Android 1.0 and 1.1 were not released under specific code names. The first public release of Android 1.0 occurred with the release of the T-Mobile G1 (aka HTC Dream) in October 2008. Both the operating system itself and the SDK were released along with their source code, as free software under the Apache License. These releases were done through software emulation as physical devices did not exist to test the operating system. Several public beta versions of the SDK were released. The beta was released on November 5, 2007, while the software development kit (SDK) was released on November 12, 2007. There were at least two internal releases of the software inside Google and the Open Handset Alliance (OHA) before the beta version was released. TLDR The meta progression makes it a bad game but even if they patched out meta progression completely it would go from a bad game to a below average game. The development of Android started in 2003 by Android, Inc., which was purchased by Google in 2005. This is great, it allows you to do something in a boss fight besides just wait for it to kill something and immediately replace it. The boss fights have a mechanic where you can reflect (some) attacks back at the boss which makes them more of a proactive encounter than a reactive one which is great. To me at least, it feels like you're supposed to lose repeatedly until you have enough currency to play the game with enough base stats to play the game as intended. You don't try to make a solid strategy out of the possibilities you were given, instead you lose and gain currency which you spend after a failed run to increase your troop's stats for future attempts. I want my roguelike games to make me retry something with different strategies until I understand how to beat them but this game goes for the "meta progression" approach and basically does not have strategy to it. The rogue side of the game is very weak in my opinion. The PVZ side of the game is more or less fine, it's not great but it's fine. On paper I think I can comfortably say that a PVZ with roguelike elements would be amazing but this just isn't it. I wanted to love this game, I really did.
